With DNA's new headquarters, office occupancy increased by 20 %
DNA is known for its work culture, which emphasises employee wellbeing and community. Martela was a key partner in DNA's new headquarters project, which was completed in Ilmala, Helsinki, in Autumn 2024. The aim was to create an attractive and inspiring working environment that serves around 1,000 employees.
With the new space, occupancy at DNA's headquarters has increased by 20 % and the new workspaces have received a lot of positive feedback. The workspaces are perceived as bright, cosy and open. The area known as the village has particularly stood out as a much-loved part of the office. It is where DNA people meet, exchange ideas and generate new ideas, which fosters a sense of community and collaboration.
Martela was selected as DNA's furniture supplier and furniture installer following a call for proposals. The new premises were designed in close cooperation with Olla architects and DNA staff, ensuring that the facilities met the needs and wishes of the employees. Martela supplied a wide range of furniture, including both Martela's own collection and products from partner brands.

- Furniture from Martela collection
- Furniture from Martela’s partner brands
- Furniture as a flexible lease service (WaaS)
- Refurbishment of the old furniture
- Transportation and installation of the furniture
Convertibility was one of the key design elements
Flexibility was one of the key design elements: for example the premises made use of curtains as partitions and wheeled furniture to allow working in different environments.
Martela's expert team ensured that the project progressed on time and within budget, and they also worked with DNA to finish the space to ensure a practical and aesthetically pleasing result.
DNA's new headquarters will provide a space designed to support a diverse workplace and community. In this space, employees can choose how and where they work, reinforcing the uncomplicated working model that has been in place for more than a decade. The new headquarters is expected to bring added value to staff and promote collaboration.
DNA's new headquarters is more than just a workspace – it is a meeting place that will inspire employees and create a framework for new forms of collaboration. Overall, the collaboration with DNA, Martela & Olla Architects was excellent.
