Tieto and Martela signed a framework agreement

Tieto and Martela have signed a two-year framework agreement on furniture services

Tieto Corporation and Martela Corporation have signed a two-year framework agreement on furniture services. The agreement covers 15 countries in Europe. Tieto chose Martela as its main partner following a competitive bidding process for furniture service providers in autumn 2018. Martela has provided Tieto with furniture and related services since the late 2000s. Through the agreement, this cooperation will continue into the future.

At Tieto, the significance of good employee experience in business development has been recognised for a long time. The goal is to expand the use of the activity-based office concept, which enables employees to choose an optimal environment for their work every day. Based on feedback from employees, the two companies seek to create spaces that encourage collaboration, creativity and innovation. The activity-based environments will be based on Martela’s 4C approach: concentration, collaboration, communication and chill-out. According to this approach, workplaces should have separate areas for concentration, teamwork, sharing information and recovery.

The framework agreement covers both larger projects and daily purchases of furniture and services. Typical projects at Tieto include furnishing major locations in various countries and adjusting facilities to changing needs and work concepts. In design, it is important to consider cultural differences between countries, as well as differences in ways of working. Projects may include either quick deliveries of furniture to different countries or more extensive work related to facility specifications, such as interior design, suggestions for colours and materials, the inventory and reuse of old furniture, the delivery of new furniture and the recycling of old surplus furniture through Martela Outlet or as materials.

Martela typically serves as the main partner in projects, making use of its expertise in the entire lifecycle of workplace development and the furnishing of large facilities. Projects are often implemented in cooperation with architecture offices, with the office being responsible for the overall design of the location, as well as designing the colours and materials in many cases. Good cooperation ensures an optimal end result for Tieto.
