Workplace trends

Martela at the Habitare Fair 2026 in Helsinki

What if creating a great workplace didn’t always start with buying new?

This year, you’ll find Martela at Habitare – but perhaps in a slightly different way than you might expect.

Martela is taking part in Habitare as part of the new Build Lab concept designed by Laura Seppänen, as well as the Nordic Quarters exhibition at Habitare Pro, from 2–6 September 2026 at Messukeskus Helsinki.

This year, we are bringing one idea above all to Habitare: great design is made to last – and its life can be extended.

At Build Lab, you can experience how existing furniture can be cleaned, maintained and refurbished through Martela Second Life services – and how new and renewed furniture can come together to create one functional, lasting whole.

Our new Maia sofa collection, designed by Antti Kotilainen, will be presented in an interior concept curated by interior designer Laura Seppänen. The Habitare installation features striking fabrics from Svensson, including Jolly RE, which contains up to 72% recycled material. The recycled yarn is made from surplus generated during raw material production, while maintaining the quality of virgin material. Maia’s modular structure allows different configurations to be created according to the space and its needs.

In addition to Martela products, our extensive partner network gives customers access to a broad selection of international and Finnish design brands. Martela’s own furniture collection is complemented by carefully selected products from our extensive partner network, including Artek, New Works, Cassina and Normann Copenhagen. The stand will also feature some unique recycled vintage treasures.

And because truly great design stands the test of time, you’ll also find Martela at the Nordic Quarters exhibition in the Habitare Pro area, represented by Olli Mannermaa’s iconic Kilta chair – a design that has demonstrated for 70 years what timeless design really means. Come and discover the story of Kilta!

At Habitare Build Lab, Kilta also tells the Second Life story: new and used chairs are shown side by side with pieces whose lives have been extended through cleaning and refurbishment. Can you tell which one is new – and which one has been given a new life?

Come and experience how new and renewed furniture can come together to create one lasting whole. See you at Habitare!
